Emergency Job: Removal of Branch
**Project Overview:** This project began as an emergency response following a windstorm. A branch had broken off and was threatening further damage to the roof. We promptly removed the damaged branch and documented the situation with photos—a step that not only facilitated the claims process but also took advantage of easy access for capturing detailed images. **Key Steps and Decisions:** Emergency Response & Documentation: The initial removal of the broken branch was critical to prevent additional damage and hazard of being over the entrance of the building. The photo documentation provided clear evidence to support the insurance claim, streamlining the process. Comprehensive Risk Assessment: During our inspection of the storm damaged trees condition of rot and poor health, we also identified a second tree in poor condition. These trees were posing risks over the parking area and sidewalk, and their overall unsightly appearance further justified the need for removal. Strategic Replanting for Uniformity & Environmental Health: With safety and aesthetics in mind, the decision was made to remove the problematic trees and replant with Autumn Blaze Maples. This choice was not only about enhancing the property's uniform look but also about preserving the local environment. Autumn Blaze Maples bring vibrant color and resilience, ensuring that the new plantings will thrive and contribute positively to the landscape. Safety Measures: After the tree removals, we took immediate steps to secure the site. The stumps were ground down, and all debris was removed. We then covered the resulting holes with plywood and placed cones with caution tape around them. These measures were implemented to protect the public from potential hazards overnight, until we could return the following day to complete the site restoration by planting and filling in with topsoil. **Forward-Thinking Approach:** We believe in addressing issues directly—no sugar-coating. By acting swiftly on the initial emergency, thoroughly assessing further risks, and making a calculated decision to remove the two trees and replant with quality trees, we provide peace of mind to the homeowner. Our approach ensures that safety, environmental preservation, and aesthetic appeal all work together for a long-term, sustainable solution.
