Jeff wanted one thing out of this project: set the house up so his wife and son never have to think about the roof again. No annual repairs, no chasing leaks, no contractor calls every storm season. We installed a mechanically seamed standing seam system in Burnished Slate Frost. No exposed fasteners anywhere on the roof. Panels are locked down with a seaming machine, not screws that back out and leak in 10 years. This is a 50 to 70 year roof, not a 15 year roof. The complexity on this one was the skylights. Eight Velux units, all complex functioning models, all replaced and flashed into the new system. Skylight integration is where most roofs fail. Done wrong, it is a leak waiting to happen. Done right, it is watertight for the life of the panel. Jeff got exactly what he asked for. A roof his family will not have to deal with again.
