We removed the heavily rusted chase cover and fitted a formed metal replacement around the chimney termination. The sequence shows the old cover and cap during removal, the replacement cover before installation and its finished edge and collar details on the chase. The sloped cover and raised collar help shed water away from the chase opening. Cracking in the surrounding masonry finish remains visible in the close inspection views; repair of that finish is not documented here.
