Ken is a past Action Exteriors customer. About nine months after his project wrapped up, Andy Green stopped by to check in and dropped off a Home Depot gift card as a thank-you, since Ken is handy around the house. While they talked, Ken mentioned that a hailstorm in late 2025 had hit his beach house in Port Aransas, and asked if Action Exteriors worked on the coast. Andy explained that the team would be down on the coast helping out with those impacted by the recent storm and could check out his property if he needed. The team headed down, and the damage was clear. The hail had beaten up the aluminum standing seam roof. Aluminum holds up well to salt air, which is why it's common on the coast, but it's softer than steel, and large hail can do a lot of damage to it. Ken mentioned he co-owned the house and needed to talk it over with the other owner, Olga. Action Exteriors already knew her. Back in 2017, Mark, a member of the Smola family, got a referral request from his doctor, and that connection led to replacing the roof on Olga's home in Rob Roy. Two separate referral paths, eight years apart, had led to two owners of the same beach house!
