On May 29, 2025, just one day after a storm dropped golf ball–size hail in the Crystal Falls area, Project Manager Andy Green knocked on the door of a home in Leander to check on potential storm damage. The inspection revealed significant impacts from the May 28 storm affecting the roof, gutters, shutters, pergola, garage doors, outdoor shower area, and even causing an interior leak. When the insurance inspection initially denied the claim, Andy didn’t walk away. Using our proven appraisal process, we helped the homeowners challenge the decision and ultimately secured $60,000 in approved coverage to properly restore the property. The home received a GAF Timberline HDZ Class 3 impact-resistant roof in Barkwood with upgraded Rizer Ridge, giving the property stronger protection for future storms. Andy also went the extra mile to help restore the home’s large cedar pergola, bringing the wood back to life with a semi-transparent stain that highlighted the natural grain. By the end of the project, the homeowners were thrilled and the beautifully restored pergola even caught the attention of a neighbor who asked Andy to help with theirs next.
