Jesse's first home took a beating in a windstorm. Three trees came down, and one branch went straight through the roof. Jacob Smola and the Action Exteriors team also found hail damage, damaged spaced-plank decking, chimney flashing that needed to be replaced, and interior damage from the branch. The initial scope called for replacing a handful of shingles. Jacob's inspection found a lot more than that, so he documented everything: the impact area, the hail damage across the roof, the decking, the flashing, and the interior. The spaced-plank decking was a big part of the scope difference, since installing new shingles over it means adding solid decking to meet code. Jesse also decided to update the look of the house with half-round gutters.
