Ballard Rooftop Deck using IPE Tiles

When we got here, another contractor had given up halfway through. The old deck was disassembled and had been sitting on the neighbor's roof for a year. Maybe they were wary of carrying the material up and down the three-story townhouse. We end up renting a 60' boom to safely remove the old materials and deliver the new ones. Usually, we shy away from projects that are only done half, but this one seems really appealing. Kevin (the owner) was super nice, and we've been wanting to try a tile & pedestal system for a while because it seems like the superior method to installing a pressure-treated frame that will just sit in water, rot and accumulate debris. There was a bit of a learning curve to this system, but overall it was pretty smooth and well thought out, and we're really proud of the outcome, and will be using it again.
