We completed structural rot repairs and an exterior envelope restoration for this residence in Brookings. Our team removed damaged sections of siding and decking to address significant wood decay found in the wall studs, sill plates, and plywood sheathing. We stabilized the structure by replacing compromised framing members and installing new house wrap and flashing to ensure a moisture-resistant seal. Following the structural work, we installed new white-framed sliding windows and replaced sections of horizontal lap siding to restore the exterior facade. We finished the interior by patching and blending the drywall surrounding the new window installations, ensuring the home was restored to a cohesive state. This work reinforced the building’s structural integrity and improved its long-term weatherproofing against the elements. We prioritized proper flashing and sealing throughout the assembly to prevent future moisture intrusion and maintain the longevity of the framing repairs.
