Perched along the pristine shoreline of Hutchinson Island, this breathtaking oceanfront estate deserved a landscape worthy of its surroundings. Alpha Zeta Enterprises was entrusted with revitalizing the property’s dune line and restoring the coastal plantings in a way that both enhances the beauty of the home and respects the delicate oceanfront ecosystem. Oceanfront landscapes present a unique challenge—salt spray, high winds, shifting sands, and seasonal cold snaps can quickly take a toll on traditional plantings. Drawing on decades of local experience designing and installing landscapes along Florida’s Treasure Coast, the Alpha Zeta team developed a carefully curated planting plan focused on resilience, longevity, and timeless coastal elegance. Damaged and distressed plant material along the dune line was carefully removed before the landscape was refreshed with hundreds of cold-tolerant and salt-resistant plantings selected specifically for oceanfront performance. Elegant drifts of Muhly grass, vibrant lantana, purslane, and yellow crown daylilies were installed with precision spacing, allowing the landscape to mature into a lush, layered tapestry of texture, movement, and color. To further elevate the property, our team meticulously refined the surrounding landscape areas—clearing seagrape debris, rejuvenating existing dune sunflower plantings, and restoring river rock accents that seamlessly tie the design into the natural coastal setting.
