Deckhouse Roof Replacement
Deckhouse has made beautiful homes over the years. Deck house roof replacements must be done in a very specific way to maintain the integrity of the home. Rigid insulation, plywood, full ice and watershield underlayments, and high quality shingle products, are components of the deck house roof system. The deckhouse open ceiling consists of 3 layers of tongue and groove cedar spanning the gorgeous beams, which can be 8'+ spaced apart from each other. The exposed ceiling is the structural substrate of the roof system. 2-4" rigid insulation is installed over top of the ceiling. Plywood should be installed over top of the insulation using long screws to penetrate the ceiling wood but cannot be too long to poke through the underside! Full ice and watershield is recommended on low slope roofs (2/12 is common for deckhouses). High quality roofing shingles (GAF Timberline HDZ) should be installed over the underlayments. https://www.deckhouse.com/
