Comprehensive Kitchen Remodel in Portland, Oregon
This 1941 kitchen came to us with buttery yellow tile, red-trimmed counters, and a cramped breakfast nook — but it also came with great bones: arched cabinet doors and a opening into the dining room. The homeowners asked us to modernize it without erasing it, so we rebuilt cabinetry from scratch and carried that original arched door profile straight into the new uppers, created a large arched opening between the kitchen and dining room to match the original style, and turned the old nook into a custom built-in bench with storage below. Textured white subway tile, honed dark granite, polished chrome pulls, and a schoolhouse pendant finish it off — eighty-five years of character, zero of it lost.
