Traffic Carpet Fiber Abrasions, Cleaning
The former residents of this home had the carpet cleaned when they moved out; however, the traffic areas had severe abrasions, leaving the dingy traffic patterns quite visible. The homeowner contacted us to see if we could improve its appearance. While these traffic patterns are permanent, we improved their appearance by removing more soil. We thoroughly vacuumed and used a counter-rotating brush machine to bring up more soil from the bottom of the fibers. This carpet also had some browning from the previous cleaning, which we corrected. We also cleaned the entry tile and kitchen linoleum, too. Using walk-off mats at entries, frequently vacuuming, and regularly cleaning the carpet can help prevent irreversible damage like this from occurring.
