Carpet Re-stretching and Corrective Repair
Our client is preparing to list this home for sale. The carpet had severe buckling in the family room, hallway, and primary bedroom. He had another company scheduled to clean the carpet two days after we did the stretching. We completed the carpet re-stretch, which involved opening and re-constructing several seams. Some areas had as much as three inches of excess, indicating it was not installed correctly. There were marks on the carpet from double-sided tape used to secure area rugs, some of which ran right over the seam into the hallway from the family room. Unfortunately, the excessive use of water and solvents during the carpet cleaning at the seam caused the carpet to delaminate. We returned to repair the delaminated seam by sectioning out the damaged area and replacing it with an insert from a coat closet. The client also requested that we re-clean the dining area carpet, as dark stains remained after the previous cleaning. We were able to significantly improve the appearance of the dining room carpet.
