Mildew Treatment, Remove & Replace Padding
This homeowner encountered a wet spot underneath a rolling chair mat. They extracted water using a home machine and dried it out, but the carpet was left with a lingering mildew odor. While it is uncertain where the water came from, there are some speculations that it had seeped up from the slab underneath. We were contacted to change out the affected carpet padding and treat and clean any mildew found. The client intends to replace the carpet in about a year and did not want us to move their desk or furniture. Because of this, we cut the carpet open to pull it back and access the affected area. We removed the affected section of padding and applied an antimicrobial agent before installing new padding. We then put the carpet back, reconstructing the seams we had cut for access. We also followed up on these repairs by cleaning the carpet in the affected bedroom.
