Rear Exterior Upgrade: Railings, Fence, and Stucco Column Restoration
This project focused on enhancing the home’s rear exterior living areas, with detailed attention to both protective coatings and visual consistency across multiple surface types. Our team painted the rear patio railing, left elevation fence and gate, and nine stucco columns with their base areas throughout the backyard. Each surface required a tailored approach to ensure long-lasting performance and a cohesive finish. For all metal elements, including the railings, fence, and gate, we applied Sherwin-Williams Pro Industrial DTM Acrylic in Tricorn Black (SW 6478) with a gloss sheen. Prior to painting, we used Sherwin-Williams Kem Kromik primer to promote strong adhesion and provide corrosion resistance—critical for exterior metal surfaces exposed to the elements. The stucco columns and base areas were coated using Sherwin-Williams Loxon XP Waterproofing Masonry Coating in a flat finish, offering superior protection against moisture intrusion while maintaining a clean, uniform appearance across the textured surfaces. Additionally, interior-facing trim areas connected to the rear spaces were finished with Benjamin Moore Advance, ensuring a smooth, durable coating that blends seamlessly with the surrounding finishes. All colors were carefully selected to match the existing palette, preserving the home’s overall aesthetic while delivering a refreshed, well-maintained look. The end result is a polished and cohesive rear exterior space, with improved durability across metal, masonry, and trim surfaces—built to withstand daily use and changing weather conditions.
