Steep Roof on a Beatiful Old Home
This beautiful home in Roff, Oklahoma, presented one of the more challenging roof replacements our team has completed. The steep 12/12 roof featured a prominent turret and several existing roofing layers, including the original cedar shake. We removed the entire roofing system down to the spaced decking originally used beneath the cedar shakes. To create a solid, dependable surface, we installed new 7/16-inch OSB decking throughout the roof. Due to the steep pitch, we then applied 30-pound underlayment before installing the new roofing system. This project required a full crew and approximately five and a half days to complete. The complexity was enough that the first crew decided it was more than they wanted to tackle—but B.A.N.A. Roofing and Solar stayed with it and got the job done right. The result is a completely rebuilt roofing system that preserves the character of this beautiful older home while providing the protection and performance of modern materials. Some roofs are straightforward. Others have a 12/12 pitch, multiple layers, cedar shakes, and a turret just to keep things interesting!
