GSHA Services, LTD repaired a central air conditioner that had stopped cooling at a home on Sonata Court in Volo, IL. Our HVAC technician arrived the same day, opened the outdoor Carrier condensing unit, checked the disconnect and contactor, and tested the dual run capacitor with a meter. The capacitor had failed, so the compressor and condenser fan could not start. We installed a new OEM-rated run capacitor, inspected the wiring and refrigerant lines, cleaned the condenser coil, checked refrigerant pressures and confirmed the system was cooling with a proper temperature split before leaving. A weak or failed capacitor is the most common summer AC breakdown, and catching it early protects the compressor from expensive damage. GSHA Services provides air conditioning repair, AC tune-ups and maintenance, furnace repair, heat pump service and new HVAC installation in Volo, Lakemoor, Round Lake, Fox Lake, Wauconda, Island Lake, McHenry and throughout Lake County and McHenry County, Illinois.
