GSHA Services, LTD responded to a generator no-start call for a homeowner in Belvidere, IL. Our technician diagnosed the Generac home standby generator, found a dead starting battery, and installed a new Interstate Group 26R battery along with a Generac cold weather kit (battery warmer) so the unit will crank reliably through northern Illinois winters. We also inspected the transfer switch wiring, checked the controller for fault codes, and ran the generator through a full exercise cycle before leaving. A weak battery is the most common reason a standby generator fails to start, and an annual check catches it before an outage does. Need generator repair, a battery replacement, or standby generator maintenance in Belvidere, Rockford, Garden Prairie, or Boone County? GSHA Services is an authorized Generac service dealer serving northern Illinois.
