GSHA Services, LTD performed an annual air-cooled tune-up on a Kohler home standby generator for a homeowner in Lake Bluff, IL. Our generator technician changed the engine oil and oil filter, replaced the air filter and spark plugs, load-tested the battery and cleaned the terminals, inspected the automatic transfer switch and wiring connections, checked the controller for stored fault codes, and ran the generator under load to confirm voltage and frequency were within spec. Annual maintenance is required to keep the Kohler warranty valid and is the best way to make sure your generator starts the moment the power goes out.
