This carport in New Windsor MD received a full shingle roof replacement after years of wear and weather exposure. The original shingles were aged and brittle, so our team at Bealing Roofing completed a full tear off to bring this structure back to a safe and reliable condition. Once the old shingles were removed, we inspected all of the decking and installed brand new plywood where it was needed to create a solid foundation for the new roofing system. We then installed Owens Corning ProArmor synthetic underlayment to give the roof a strong moisture barrier and long lasting protection. This step is important because it helps the entire roofing system stay secure through Maryland’s changing seasons. For the shingles, we used Owens Corning Duration, which are well known for their durability and the clean, finished look they bring to any home or outbuilding. To finish the project properly, we added Owens Corning VentSure ridge ventilation along the peak of the carport. Even though this is a standalone structure, ventilation still matters because it helps reduce heat buildup under the roof and extends the life of the shingles. We completed the ridge with Owens Corning ProEdge cap shingles for a strong and uniform seal. The end result is a clean, updated roof that blends beautifully with the surrounding property and provides dependable protection for the homeowner.
