Honeycombs and Vertical Blind Sunroom Project in Athens
October 2026
For this recent Athens, AL project, our Blinds and Borders team installed 9 honeycomb shades and 1 vertical blind in the homeowners’ sunroom, with a total project investment of just under $7,000. In a room surrounded by glass, the right window treatments do more than finish the look. They give you more control over light, glare, privacy, and comfort, so the space works better for morning coffee, afternoon reading, and everyday relaxing. The vertical blind deserves a little spotlight of its own. Vertical blinds are a practical, versatile option for sunrooms, especially for wide openings and sliding glass doors. Adjustable vanes let you change the angle of incoming light, cut down on harsh glare, and add privacy without always closing off the daylight completely. Draw them aside when you want a more open view, or close them when it’s time for a little more coverage. Paired with honeycomb shades, they bring two useful approaches to sunroom comfort. Honeycomb shades trap air in their cellular structure, adding insulation at the windows to help reduce unwanted heat gain in warmer weather and heat loss when temperatures drop. They also provide privacy and help manage bright sunlight!
