Transitioning from asphalt shingles to standing seam metal is one of the most significant upgrades a homeowner can make. Unlike layered shingle systems, standing seam panels create a continuous, interlocking surface designed for long-term durability and structural strength. The concealed fastening system eliminates exposed screws, reducing maintenance concerns over time. In Florida’s climate, metal roofing provides an advantage in longevity and wind performance. Panels must be measured precisely from eave to ridge before fabrication, as each piece is custom cut to exact length. That precision ensures proper alignment, water shedding, and structural stability once installed. Metal roofing is less forgiving than shingles during installation, which makes planning and execution critical. This project utilized 26-gauge 1-inch Snap Lock standing seam panels in a mill finish. The scope included 125 panels at 18 feet 2 inches and 95 panels at 13 feet 8 inches, reflecting the scale and complexity of the structure. The result is a clean, durable roofing system designed to perform reliably for decades.
