This project features a new construction roofing installation using a standing seam metal system designed for long term durability and performance in Florida conditions. From the start, the goal was to install a roof that offers strength, clean lines, and minimal maintenance over its lifespan. Standing seam metal roofing is a common choice for new construction due to its ability to handle heat, rain, and wind while maintaining a modern, refined appearance. The roofing system consists of 26 gauge 1 foot snap lock standing seam panels finished in galvalume, a raw metal coating known for its corrosion resistance and longevity. Panel layout was carefully planned to match the structure’s design, including 60 panels at 20 feet 1 inch, 60 panels at 8 feet, and 26 panels at 21 feet 10 inches. Accurate panel sizing and layout are critical in standing seam installations to ensure proper water shedding, secure fastening, and consistent visual alignment. Standing seam systems rely on concealed fasteners and interlocking seams, which help reduce the risk of leaks and fastener fatigue over time. This makes them especially well suited for Florida’s climate, where prolonged sun exposure and seasonal storms place constant stress on roofing materials.
