Roof systems rely on multiple components working together to protect the structure beneath them. Shingles, drip edge, flashing, and ventilation all contribute to directing water away from the roof deck and preventing moisture intrusion. When these elements begin to age or deteriorate, replacing the roofing system becomes an important step in maintaining the home’s structural reliability. In Florida, roofing materials face constant exposure to sunlight, heavy rain, and seasonal storms. These conditions gradually reduce the flexibility and adhesion of aging shingles, which can lead to lifted edges or weakened seal lines. Installing a modern architectural shingle system restores the protective barrier while improving wind resistance and overall durability. This project involved approximately 26 squares of Owens Corning Oakridge shingles in Desert Tan. The color offers a warm, natural appearance that blends well with a wide range of exterior finishes.
