New shingle reroof in Gainesville, FL

March 2026

When a home undergoes a remodel or addition, the roofing system has to function as one continuous structure, not two separate sections. Tie-ins between existing roofs and new additions are one of the most failure-prone areas if not installed correctly. Proper flashing, slope transitions, and ventilation alignment all play a critical role in preventing leaks and long-term damage. In Florida, this becomes even more important due to heavy rainfall, high humidity, and frequent storms. Any weak point at a tie-in can quickly turn into water intrusion, leading to rot, mold, or structural issues. A properly installed reroof during an addition ensures the entire system performs uniformly under these conditions. For this project, the existing roof was replaced while integrating a new roof section for the addition using OC Oakridge shingles in Brownwood. The goal was to create a seamless, durable roofing system that protects both the original structure and the new build as one. https://maps.app.goo.gl/QHhf84HaJVJcpeiy7
