This project involved a full commercial reroof for a Goodyear Tire location in The Villages, Florida. The property owners are based out of Arkansas, so much of the coordination took place through their on site manager. During the initial walkthrough, it was clear they wanted a reliable contractor who understood the area and could manage a large scale commercial reroof with minimal disruption to daily operations. The existing shingle roof was due for replacement, and the goal was to install a solid, middle of the road roofing system that balanced quality, longevity, and value. Owens Corning Duration shingles in Estate Gray were selected for this project, covering a total of 78 squares. Estate Gray offers a clean, professional appearance that works well for commercial buildings while maintaining strong performance in Florida conditions. White drip edge was installed along the roof perimeter to help manage water runoff and protect roof edges, while black boots, vents, and paint were used to maintain consistency across roof penetrations. Attention to these details ensures the roof performs as a complete system rather than individual components. Large commercial reroofs require careful planning, especially when the business remains operational.
