This epoxy flake floor project was completed using a multi-step, professional-grade coating system designed for durability, adhesion, and long-term performance. Proper surface preparation was the most critical component of this installation, and every step was executed to industry standards. Surface Preparation & Concrete Profiling To ensure maximum bond strength and coating longevity, we began by filling all saw cuts to create a seamless, uniform slab. Diamond grinding the concrete to achieve a Concrete Surface Profile (CSP) of 3, which is the ideal profile for epoxy and polyurea coating systems This mechanical preparation allows the coating to properly penetrate and bond to the concrete rather than sitting on the surface. Coating System Installation: Once the slab was properly prepared, we installed a high-performance coating system: Epoxy-coated the side walls for a clean, finished perimeter, applied a polyurea base coat for superior adhesion and flexibility. Installed a full broadcast flake system using ¼" flake in the color “Raging Red” We finished with a poly-aspartic clear topcoat to lock in the flakes and provide enhanced durability, chemical and moisture resistance. Final Result: A Smooth easy to clean surface The completed floor delivers both visual impact and industrial-strength performance. The bold Raging Red flake creates a striking finish, while the polyurea and poly-aspartic system ensures the floor is built to withstand daily use for years to come.
