Capitol Iron Works recently completed the custom fabrication and installation of a specialized steel railing system for a residential estate in Bowie, MD. This project focused on enhancing the transition from the driveway to the backyard, ensuring both safety and architectural appeal for the home’s exterior landscape. A classic Traditional aesthetic featuring curved lines that follow the natural flow of the outdoor masonry. The framework is engineered for stability using with 1" square tubing for primary structural. To provide a comfortable grip, the system is topped with a Molded Top Bar. The design utilizes 1/2" square pickets and steel bar channels, creating a timeless and secure barrier. The entire assembly is protected by a Conventional Black Paint Finish, providing a uniform look designed for outdoor durability. The homeowner required a secure, code-compliant solution for a seven-step descent that felt like a natural extension of the landscape. We addressed this by sending a specialist to take exact site measurements, ensuring the custom curves of the ironwork perfectly matched the unique geometry of the existing stone steps.
