Capitol Iron Works completed the installation of these custom exterior steel railings for a residence in Germantown, MD. This project focused on enhancing the safety and curb appeal of the home's front entryway and side porch with a durable, classic design. Project Highlights & Materials: Structural Framing: The railing is built with 1" x 1" steel square posts, providing a strong and secure foundation for the outdoor steps and landings. Vertical Infill: We utilized 1/2" x 1/2" steel square pickets in a traditional vertical layout, ensuring a timeless aesthetic that complements the home's architecture. Weather-Resistant Finish: The entire system is coated in a conventional black paint, designed to protect the steel from the elements and provide a clean, professional look. Custom Fit: Each section was precisely measured and fabricated to follow the specific pitch of the concrete steps and the perimeter of the porch areas. Safety & Durability: These railings provide essential support for high-traffic exterior areas while maintaining the structural integrity required for outdoor exposure in the Maryland climate.
