We completed an attic efficiency project focused on sealing and insulating knee wall access points in a Chattanooga home. Our team addressed several openings within the sloped ceiling areas to prevent heat transfer between the living space and the attic. We focused on creating a tighter building envelope while maintaining easy access to storage and utility areas. For the primary insulation, we installed GreenGuard XPS rigid foam boards directly into the door frames to provide a high R-value thermal barrier. We also fitted custom plywood access panels flush against the drywall to create a clean, durable finish in the storage zones. These improvements work together to stabilize interior temperatures and enhance the home's overall energy performance.
