We performed a comprehensive attic insulation and air sealing project for this home in Shadyside, OH (43947.) We began by installing an aluminum folding attic ladder and access hatch to improve accessibility. Our team then addressed energy loss by sealing air leaks around electrical lines, plumbing stacks, and light fixtures using expanding foam and rigid insulation boards. To ensure proper ventilation, we installed rafter vent baffles along the eaves before blowing in a thick layer of TruSoft cellulose insulation; to a value of R-49. We also utilized recessed light covers and chimney dams to maintain safety around heat-producing fixtures. This project significantly improved the home's thermal envelope and overall energy efficiency.
