The soffits on this newer Valley home were solid all the way around, so the vents on the roof had almost no fresh air coming in from below. Our crew measured the overhangs, cut openings between the rafters and installed louvered soffit vents so outside air can enter low and push hot, damp air out the top. Better attic airflow keeps shingles cooler in summer and helps stop ice dams in winter.
