Our team carefully removed and cataloged each original terracotta Cap and Pan tile for reuse before replacing damaged roof decking and installing a premium waterproofing system using CertainTeed Vycor® HT Ice & Water Shield. Once the roof structure was restored, we meticulously reinstalled the original tiles using traditional installation techniques, securing the pan tiles with copper nails and the cap tiles with copper wire tied to copper nails—maintaining the craftsmanship and integrity of the original roof. With replacement bird stops no longer available for this historic tile profile, our team custom-fabricated new bird stops using Flexim mortar and finished the ridge caps with the same premium flexible mortar to create a durable, weather-tight seal designed to accommodate natural roof movement.
