ULINE Stabilization of Deflecting Concrete Floor Panels in Ontario

This project consisted of approximately 170 linear feet of structural joint repair at a distribution facility in Ontario for ULINE. The scope focused on restoring joint integrity and stabilizing slab movement in a high-traffic industrial environment subject to constant material handling operations. The repair process began with addressing underlying slab instability contributing to joint deterioration. A high-density expanding polyurethane system, Spal-Pro Stabilizer EXP, was pressure-injected beneath the concrete slab to fill subgrade voids and stabilize areas affected by settlement and deflection. The material expanded and cured into a rigid, load-bearing structure, effectively eliminating movement and providing long-term support to the slab. Following stabilization, all deteriorated and damaged joints were prepared and rebuilt using Armor-Hard Extreme, a high-strength, fast-setting epoxy mortar system designed for heavy-duty industrial applications. This material was used to restore joint edges, repair spalled concrete, and create a durable surface capable of withstanding continuous forklift and vehicular traffic. The repair system was designed to address both the root cause of slab movement and the visible surface damage. By combining sub-slab stabilization with structural joint reconstruction, the project delivered a reinforced and long-lasting solution tailored for demanding warehouse conditions. The completed work resulted in a fully stabilized and restored joint system, improving load performance, reducing ongoing maintenance needs, and extending the service life of the concrete floor.
