This week we completed a bespoke hybrid 14 kw heat pump & 40 kw boiler installation at a stunning grand property in the East Riding of Yorkshire. Due to the size of the home (400 square meters) and its high heat-loss demand at 40kw !!, a hybrid system was the most sensible and future-proof solution. We installed a high-performance air source heat pump, supported by a backup boiler that automatically steps in during peak demand when the heat pump reaches its capacity limits. The customer was keen to fully utilise their existing solar PV and battery storage, so we designed the system to work intelligently around this. The heating has been configured in smart tariff mode, allowing it to automatically select the cheapest and most economical energy source at the right moment — maximising renewables, minimising running costs, and reducing carbon emissions.
