Composite Entry Stair Construction with Integrated Lighting in Seattle
We transformed the outdoor living space at this Seattle home by replacing the existing deck with a new TimberTech Vintage PVC system. After removing and hauling away the old decking and framing, we installed new pressure-treated framing with two concrete foundation footings, followed by TimberTech Vintage PVC 1"×6" decking boards with a perimeter border accent. AzeK PVC fascia trim was installed along the perimeter for a clean, finished edge. Access is provided by two new composite stair treads with pressure-treated stair framing. The deck is enclosed with a TimberTech Impressions aluminum railing system along 12 linear feet of the perimeter, offering a low-maintenance, durable alternative to traditional wood or vinyl. Trex Protect joist tape was applied to the framing to extend the life of the structure. For evening ambiance and safety, we installed three post or riser lights powered by a high-capacity deck lighting transformer with dimmer control, giving the homeowners adjustable lighting right at the deck surface.
