Painting Stained Wood Trim and Staircase. Walls too!
These homeowners were sick of the look of their stained wood trim. We painted their walls, baseboards, doors and windows in the kitchen, hallways, and bathroom. We also painted the vanity in the bathroom and the staircase, as well! Prep work is key when converting stain-grade trim over to paint as you need to ensure the paint will adhere properly and last over time. After cleaning and sanding all of the stained trim, we primed everything with bonding primer. We then primed AGAIN with an oil-based primer in areas where tannins were bleeding through our latex primer. The closet doors were all removed and sprayed down in the basement, only after receiving the same prep treatment as the rest of the trim, of course. Check out the nifty masking we came up with to protect the hinges of these doors! When all was said and done, these clients now have a softer and more inviting space that they are excited to decorate!
