We constructed a custom gable-style porch roof over an existing composite deck in Halifax. To ensure structural integrity, we excavated and poured deep footings before framing the new addition with heavy-duty LVL beams and premium lumber. The project involved carefully tying the new roofline into the existing grey vinyl siding of the home. For the roofing, we installed GAF Timberline HDZ asphalt shingles to match the main house and ensure long-term durability. We finished the interior and exterior of the overhang with white vinyl soffit and fascia to create a clean, low-maintenance look. This addition provides a permanent shaded lounge area that significantly increases the usability of the backyard patio and pool space.
