Packard Park in Fort Wayne is a one-of-a-kind playground that blends play, history, and community identity—and we were proud to be part of bringing it to life. The park itself sits on the former site of the Packard Piano & Organ Company, a major part of Fort Wayne’s history dating back to the late 1800s. To honor that legacy, the design incorporates a unique piano key pathway, serving as a tribute to the company that once operated on this very site and helped shape the surrounding neighborhood. To support both the design and safety of the playground, we installed Playground Grass Ultra by ForeverLawn throughout the play areas. Ultra is one of our most advanced playground systems, engineered specifically for high-traffic public environments like this. It features: Built-in antimicrobial technology to help maintain a cleaner play surface Antistatic properties, reducing static buildup for a more comfortable experience A cushioned system designed to meet fall height requirements A durable, consistent surface that won’t shift, wear unevenly, or turn to mud Beyond performance, the turf plays an important role in the overall aesthetic—providing a clean, vibrant foundation that enhances the park’s historical design elements, including the piano keys.
