Humane Society for Greater Lafayette was in the process of building a brand-new, state-of-the-art animal shelter when they realized traditional sod simply would not hold up to the daily wear and tear created by shelter dogs. Like many animal care facilities, they needed a solution that would stay clean, functional, and attractive despite constant use. We partnered with the Humane Society to install K9Grass throughout their outdoor areas, replacing the originally planned sod with a system designed specifically for dogs. Unlike traditional artificial turf, K9Grass features a 100% knitted construction for instant edge-to-edge drainage, built-in antimicrobial technology, and no infill required—making it ideal for high-use animal environments. The finished installation provided the shelter with durable, mud-free outdoor spaces that are safer, cleaner, and far easier to maintain year-round. The turf allows staff and volunteers to spend less time dealing with damaged grass and muddy conditions and more time focused on caring for the animals. In addition to improving functionality, the installation also enhanced the overall appearance of the new facility and created a welcoming environment for visitors, adopters, and the dogs themselves.
