Vinyl Siding and Roof Flashing Repair in Thurmont, Maryland
We addressed recurring water intrusion issues at the roof-to-wall transition of this home in Thurmont. After removing the existing beige vinyl siding, we discovered that heavy rain was overwhelming the original flashing and infiltrating the building envelope. We remediated the area by properly integrating the step flashing with the existing DuPont Tyvek moisture barrier using specialized Super Stick building tape to create a watertight seal. This correction ensures that water is effectively diverted away from the wall structure and onto the shingles. We concluded the project by carefully reinstalling the vinyl siding to prevent future moisture damage behind the exterior cladding. This targeted repair restores the integrity of the home's exterior defense system against severe weather conditions.
