Residential Backup Power Upgrade: Replacing a Generac with a New Kohler 26RCA
In Conroe, our team finished a full-scale residential standby generator upgrade from of a Generac unit to a new Kohler unit for a local residence. We mounted a Kohler 26RCA unit onto a pre-existing stable concrete pad and connected it to the property's current electrical system. To guarantee uninterrupted power during grid failures, the project featured the installation of a 200-amp automatic transfer switch. The electrical phase of the installation was comprehensive, involving meticulous wiring in the main service panel and the integration of an Intermatic surge protector. Additionally, we managed the gas plumbing requirements by fitting a dedicated pressure regulator and flexible fuel lines to supply the generator. To ensure the homeowners have dependable backup energy, we conducted final tests to verify electrical load balancing and gas pressure.
