Here’s another project we recently wrapped up in Prospect. This was a full roofing system replacement. We tore the entire existing roof down to the exposed deck, inspected for any compromised decking or framing, and rebuilt the system from the deck up. We started with new drip edge, then installed a fully adhered ice-and-water barrier at the eaves to help protect one of the most vulnerable areas of the roof. Funny enough, that detail is required by code in a lot of colder parts of the country, but not typically here. We still include it on all of our roofing systems because we believe in building them the right way, not just the minimum way. From there, we installed ice-and-water barrier at pitch transitions, valleys, penetrations, and aprons, followed by aluminum flashings, underlayment, penetration accessories, and finally the shingles. A roof system is a lot more than what you see from the ground. It takes a lot of steps to do it right, but that’s what we take pride in. And getting photos like these at the end always makes it worth it.
