Exterior Brick Refresh in Olde Kensington

Groovy Hues Painting recently wrapped up a brick exterior restoration for a rowhome in the Olde Kensington neighborhood of Philadelphia. The client wanted to refresh the curb appeal while maintaining the classic character of the home’s front façade—and our team delivered just that. Project Highlights: Thorough Surface Prep: We began by applying detergent and pressure washing the entire 510 sq ft brick surface to remove buildup and ensure optimal paint adhesion. All cracks, holes, and flaking areas were patched, sanded, and spot-primed as needed. Recessed Joint Detailing: Using Sherwin-Williams Loxon XP in Benjamin Moore's Waller Green CW-510 (flat), our team carefully rolled two full coats into the recessed joints of the brick, creating even, lasting coverage while preserving the brick’s texture and depth. Color Consultation Included: Julie received a complimentary one-hour color consultation with our designer to help select a shade that felt bold and timeless—Andiron, a rich, earthy green that blends seamlessly with the urban landscape. Clean-Up & Client Satisfaction: The crew maintained a clean site throughout and concluded the project with a full walkthrough to ensure every detail met the client’s expectations.
