Groovy Hues Painting completed an extensive exterior transformation for a charming home in West Philadelphia. The project focused on revitalizing the property's siding, stucco, woodwork, and fencing to elevate curb appeal and ensure long-term protection against the elements. Scope of Work: This job was a comprehensive exterior repaint and stain involving multiple surfaces around the home—including aluminum siding, stucco walls, wooden spindles, and fencing. Our team, led by crew leader Miguel, executed the project using a combination of pressure washing, thorough surface preparation, and premium-grade coatings. Surface Preparation Process: All exterior surfaces were cleaned using a mix of pressure washing and detergent applications to remove built-up dirt, mildew, and old paint residue. Loose and peeling paint was scraped and sanded down to create a smooth foundation. Cracks, holes, and gaps were patched, caulked, or filled as necessary. Bare spots were primed to guarantee proper adhesion and even coverage across all surfaces. Painting & Staining: Stucco Surfaces: The front basement entryway and dividing wall were coated with Sherwin-Williams Loxon XP in Loggia, a breathable and highly durable flat finish designed for masonry and stucco. Aluminum Siding: The left and rear elevations were spray-coated with PPG’s Duration Home Exterior Paint in the deep, rich tone Backyard 397, ensuring full coverage with two coats and a sleek, uniform finish. Woodwork: The front wooden spindles and posts were stained in Buckthorn (SW3003), a warm, earthy hue that highlights the wood’s natural texture. The backyard fence received a fresh coat of Juniper Blues (SW3014) solid stain, adding a cool, vibrant contrast and enhancing the overall landscape aesthetic. Daily Maintenance & Final Walkthrough: Throughout the job, the team kept the workspace clean and organized with daily setup and cleanup protocols. At the conclusion of the project, a final walkthrough with the client ensured satisfaction with the results and allowed for any needed touch-ups to be addressed on the spot or scheduled.
