Groovy Hues Painting completed a small but impactful interior project for a residence in the Fishtown neighborhood of Philadelphia. This job centered on the transformation of a powder room and guest bedroom with soft, airy hues and meticulous attention to trim detail. Though compact in scale, the project delivered a fresh and polished aesthetic throughout both spaces. Scope of Work: Our crew, led by Jose R., focused on refreshing the powder room and guest room. The client began with a complimentary color consultation to ensure a cohesive palette and a customized finish for each area. Powder Room: The walls and ceiling were painted in Breath of Fresh Air by Benjamin Moore, a soft and uplifting shade that instantly opened up the space. Due to the room’s tight quarters and prior surface conditions, three coats were applied to both walls and ceilings for full coverage and a flawless finish. Trim and baseboards received two coats of semi-gloss in the same Breath of Fresh Air tone using Benjamin Moore Advance, offering a durable, wipeable surface. The door and frame were also painted in this coordinating finish, tying together all elements of the small space with clean lines and consistency. Guest Room: The guest room trim was painted with Sherwin-Williams Emerald Urethane Enamel in Faded Flax Flower, a soft yet elegant contrast to the walls that added subtle character. Doors and frames were treated with the same color in a semi-gloss finish to create visual continuity and resilience in high-touch areas. Preparation & Finishing Process: The team followed our standard protection protocol, covering floors and fixtures before bringing in materials. Glossy surfaces and trim were sanded and cleaned thoroughly to ensure optimal paint adhesion. All nail holes, cracks, and imperfections were filled, patched, and sanded using professional-grade equipment (Festool). Daily job site organization and cleanup ensured minimal disruption to the household and a tidy finish.
