Whole-Home Transformation in Olde Kensington
Our crew, led by Marvin, completed an extensive interior refresh for Emily Werner’s home in Olde Kensington. This project covered multiple floors, blending modern neutrals with timeless finishes and even a touch of unique limewash for added character. Living Room & Kitchen We set the tone for the main living areas by painting the walls in Dover White (SW 6385, Cashmere Eggshell), paired with Bright White (SW 7007, flat) ceilings. Trim, doors, and ledges were detailed in Extra White (SW 7006, semigloss), creating crisp contrast and a polished look. The combination of warm whites and durable finishes made this space feel open, bright, and inviting. Basement Stairwell For this high-traffic area, we carried Dover White walls down the stairwell with Bright White ceilings, pairing them with a striking Tricorn Black (SW 6258, satin) handrail. This contrast added depth and durability while keeping the area feeling clean and functional. Back Bedroom Here we introduced something truly special: a limewash finish (El Coyote from Portola) on both the walls and ceiling. This natural texture brought warmth and depth, making the bedroom feel cozy and stylish while showcasing a modern take on historic paint techniques. Trim, windowsills, and doors were finished in Alluring White (SW 6343, semigloss) for a soft, balanced frame against the limewashed surfaces. Bathroom In the 2nd-floor bath, we applied Cool Beige (SW 9086, satin) on the walls with a Bright White ceiling. Trim and doors were again finished in Extra White, giving the bathroom a timeless and spa-like feel that’s easy to maintain. Front Bedroom & Hallway/Stairwell The front bedroom received a refresh with Silver Plate (Cashmere Eggshell) on the walls and Bright White ceilings. In the main hallway and stairwell, Dover White walls and Bright White ceilings kept the spaces cohesive, while another Tricorn Black handrail added a stylish accent. From start to finish, every surface was meticulously prepped — patched, sanded, and cleaned for proper adhesion. Furniture and floors were fully protected, and daily cleanups ensured a neat work environment. The project closed with a final walkthrough to confirm every detail met expectations. ✨ This project is a perfect example of how a carefully planned color palette, durable finishes, and unique touches like limewash can completely transform a home’s atmosphere and flow.
