Backyard Transformation – Grading, Eco-Lawn & West Coast-Inspired Design

This full-scale backyard transformation was designed to create a functional, low-maintenance outdoor space rooted in West Coast landscape aesthetics. The project began with site grading and drainage improvements to resolve water retention issues and prepare the area for long-term durability. We removed unwanted vegetation and outdated landscape features, then introduced a new layout that balances softscape and hardscape elements. A circular paver feature was installed as a visual focal point and gathering area, while the surrounding space was planted with an eco-lawn—a resilient grass and clover blend that reduces water use and maintenance. The design also incorporated naturalistic, low-maintenance planting zones with a focus on texture, drought tolerance, and seasonal interest. Inspired by the rugged beauty of the West Coast, the final landscape delivers both ecological value and long-term ease of care.
