This old portland home has very little attic space. The attic spaces are currently spray foamed and it wasn't doing enough for the home. We built a system where after removing the old roofing and replacing the bad decking, we installed 4" polyiso insulation ontop of the decking. We then added 2x4 sleepers in line with the rafters and laid another layer of plywood ontop of that. This lifted the roofline about 6 inches but added an additional 19R value to the home. We rebuilt all the corbels on the home as they were rotting out. We also added new tongue and groove soffits throughout the house to bring back the old detail along with extending the eaves out.
