Project in Oakland
This exterior project in Oakland was a great example of why proper preparation is essential before painting. The house was in serious need of a repaint, but before any paint could touch the surface, it required a full restoration process. In several areas, especially at the front of the house, the old paint had completely failed. Because of that, we had to strip the coating all the way down to the bare wood. Some sections allowed us to scrape and sand the surface, but in most areas the old paint had to be fully removed to make sure the new system would properly bond and protect the home. From start to finish, the project took about 16 days to complete, and nearly 90 percent of that time was dedicated to preparation. Our goal was to remove as much of the failing coating as possible so the new paint could properly protect the house for years to come. Once the preparation was complete, the homeowners selected beautiful, vibrant colors that really brought the home back to life. The transformation created a dramatic before and after, and the final result truly stands out. Green represents life, renewal, and energy, and it gave this home a fresh new personality. What do you think about the final result? Is this a color you would choose for your home?
